Discount on Natural Gas and Electricity Prices Effective January 1, 2023

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced a 1 percent discount on natural gas used in places of worship and cemevis, effective January 2023, 42,73.

“There was a 16 percent discount on the electricity used by industrial establishments. The wholesale price of natural gas for electricity generation was reduced by 12,73 percent. On the other hand, the sales price of natural gas used in industry was reduced by 2022 percent to 1 percent as of January 2023, 13,10, based on November 25,11.

In addition, on March 1, the electricity used by places of worship, association and foundation centers and their branches and cemevis was reduced. With the change made, places of worship and cemevis, which previously paid approximately 330 kurus per kilowatt-hour over the public, private and other services sector tariffs, have now started to pay approximately 50 kurus per kilowatt-hour, with a decrease of approximately 170 percent over the lower-level residential group tariff.
