Beware of Factors that Trigger Aging
Attention to Factors Triggering Aging!

Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon Op.Dr.Celal Alioğlu gave important information about the subject. Loss of elasticity in the skin with aging causes excess skin and sagging of subcutaneous tissues. Especially sagging on the chin, neck and cheeks can disturb people. This causes the person to look old, tired and sad.

With the stretching operations, the subcutaneous tissues displaced downwards are taken to the places where they should be, and the excess skin is removed. In this way, uncomfortable sagging and skin gatherings in certain areas of the face are corrected.

The downward displacement of the cheeks causes the nose-lip and under-eye lines to become prominent, while the sagging of the chin disrupts the natural aesthetic appearance of the face. Lines in the forehead area, low eyebrows, sagging in the neck and jowl area can cause discomfort to people. All these deformities due to aging are corrected by stretching surgeries.

Surgery process?

The duration of the operation varies between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the scope of the operation. It can be planned as a face lift, forehead lift, neck lift or a combination of these surgeries, depending on the needs of the patient. Generally, patients are discharged one day after surgery.

Will there be any scars after the operation?

Op.Dr.Celal Alioğlu said, “As the excess skin will be removed in front of the ear in facelift surgery, an incision is made in front of the ear that goes up into the hairline. If neck lift surgery is also to be performed, the incision is extended from under the earlobe to the nape. In forehead lift, a longitudinal incision is made along the line, depending on the scope of the surgery, in the area where the forehead and hairline intersect. A scar is formed after each incision made. However, since the traces are planned according to the anatomy, they look as good as possible. Scars become understandable only by plastic surgeons at the end of the first year. After the operation, it is closed with a special dressing. The next day, the dressing is opened and no extra dressing is applied. Bruising is rare after surgery. Edema begins one day after surgery and reaches a maximum within a week. Then 80% of the edemas pass within a month. It is necessary to wait 6 months for the final result to be evaluated. Routine controls are planned as the first week, the first month, the third month, the sixth month and the first year.”
