The share of bicycle transportation increased

BISIM 890 is in service with bicycle

BISIM, one of the most important components of bicycle transportation planning, provides service throughout the city with 120 bicycles, 120 of which are children, 650 of which are tandem (with two drivers) and 890 of which are adult bicycles. The number of BISIM bikes has been increased from 540 to 890. During President Soyer's term, the use of BISIM bicycles increased by 30 percent.

5 cents application increased boarding passes by 82 percent

In order to increase the use of bicycles, bicycle transportation was included in all public transportation. As of 2020, the number of citizens who prefer the ferry by bicycle has increased by 5 percent between 2021 and 2022, by enabling cyclists to benefit from ferry services within the gulf for 82 cents.

Target 107 kilometers

The bicycle path, which reaches 89 kilometers throughout the city, will increase to 107 kilometers with the new regulations to be implemented. In Gaziemir, Buca, Çeşme, Menderes, Bayındır, Tire, Bergama and Selçuk districts, planning and project design studies continue for the bicycle path. It is planned to build 107 kilometers of bicycle paths in the short term and 248 kilometers in the medium and long term.

Cyclists are freer in traffic

35 free repair stations and 50 bicycle pumps have been placed on the bicycle paths so that cyclists can reach them without being on the road. In order to strengthen the awareness of bicycles in traffic, messages were given to motor vehicle drivers on digital screens and billboards in 30 districts.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will make a collective bicycle ride from Konak Square to İnciraltı Urban Forest at 3 today as part of the 18.00 June World Bicycle Day activities. Activities will continue in İnciraltı Kent Ormanı.
