ANKARA (IGFA) – Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler met with the TRT Children's Choir, who sang the "Homeland Anthem" on the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, at the Ministry of National Defense.
Along with Minister Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak, Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Land Forces Commander General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu and Air Forces Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu were also present at the reception.
Minister Yaşar Güler congratulated the children wearing military uniforms and watched the Homeland Anthem clip with them.

Minister Yaşar Güler noted the following during his meeting with our children:
“Dear guests, our precious children, welcome. I sincerely congratulate you on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
Dear Children; I am very happy to host you, our precious children, at our Ministry on this meaningful day. April 23, the day when the Grand National Assembly of Turkey was opened, is the strongest expression of the Turkish nation's desire and determination to live independently. Our Gazi Assembly was established under the most difficult conditions when our homeland was occupied and successfully carried out our National Struggle. Thanks to this unique victory won by the heroic struggle of our glorious army, the path to the establishment of our Republic was opened. "On this occasion, I commemorate our beloved martyrs and heroic veterans, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, with mercy and gratitude."
