Holiday Enthusiasm in Nilüfer

The events organized by Nilüfer Municipality on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day brought joy to the people of Nilüfer.

The celebrations in Nilüfer took place in Nilüfer Cumhuriyet Square in front of the People's House. As part of the celebrations, a wreath laying ceremony was first held in front of the Atatürk Monument. Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir and his wife Nuray Özdemir, former CHP Bursa Deputy Ceyhun İrgil, CHP Nilüfer District Chairman Özgür Şahin, Nilüfer Municipal Council Members, former Nilüfer Municipality Mayor Turgay Erdem, headmen, representatives of many non-governmental organizations and citizens attended the wreath ceremony. .
After the wreath presentation, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was sung. Speaking at the ceremony, Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir congratulated everyone on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day. Stating that they are celebrating the pride day of the Turkish nation, Mayor Özdemir said: “104 years have passed since the day the Turkish people declared their sovereignty and the establishment of our Assembly, but our joy is as much as the first day. 104 years ago today, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades showed to friends and enemies that the Turkish nation would not accept any yoke. "Today, we once again commemorate our Ancestor, his comrades in arms, and all our martyrs and veterans, who opened our Supreme Assembly on April 23, 1920 and declared that sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation."

Stating that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, gifted this day to the children of our future, President Şadi Özdemir said, “Atamaz's gift of this meaningful day to children is the most meaningful indicator of his trust in them. "We will fight to protect all the rights of all our children living in this country and to ensure that every child in this land has the same opportunities," he said.
President Şadi Özdemir concluded his speech by saying, "We will protect our Republic and hold it tighter than ever."
After the wreath ceremony, colorful celebrations took place in the square. Nilüfer City Council Children's Council President Özlem Yılmaz, in her speech on behalf of children, said, “We want children from different segments to be represented in the country we live in, their rights to be brought to the agenda, and solutions to problems to be sought. "We, children, should be allowed to participate in decisions regarding matters concerning them," he said.
After the speeches, Nilüfer Children's Choir took the stage. Children celebrating the holiday with the moving parts of the choir; had fun with bubble show, zumba and magician shows. Mayor Şadi Özdemir also shared the joy of the children by participating in the events.
Children who participated in the day-long activities in the field enjoyed the joy of the holiday to the fullest.
