'Frying Oil' Inspection in 81 Provinces Simultaneously

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı emphasized that as a ministry, citizens' access to and consumption of healthy food is among their main duties, and noted that they carry out sectoral food inspections.

Minister Yumaklı underlined that they continue to work in an effort to keep every step of food from the field to the table under control and to offer safe food to citizens, and said: "To eliminate the risks that may occur in our country, especially in businesses that produce fast food style and offer it to mass consumption, and to protect public health and consumers in terms of food safety." In this period, we are focusing on inspections regarding the oils used in frying in order to ensure In addition to the risk-based inspections and controls routinely carried out by our Ministry throughout the year, inspections regarding fats and oils used in frying in mass consumption places have been started today for 10 days in order to raise awareness. Within the scope of the work to be carried out in 81 provinces, 7 thousand 500 control officers will carry out inspections in mass consumption places. "These friends of ours will look at issues such as polar substance, acid number and frying oil temperature during the inspections." he said.

Stating that in order to protect the health and interests of consumers at the highest level, necessary sanctions will be applied to those who supply unsafe food, Yumaklı stated that the inspections on mass consumption places using oils used in frying will not be limited only during this period, but will continue unabated from now on.
