An additional 25 percent quota for earthquake-affected students at state universities in their provinces. The Council of Higher Education has decided that candidates residing in the provinces affected by the earthquake will be allocated an additional 25 percent quota for earthquake victims without any reduction in the general quota while they settle in the universities in their own provinces. Earthquake victims will also be allocated 1 quota in each program at foundation universities.

The Council of Higher Education has decided to allocate an additional 2023 percent quota for candidates residing in the provinces under the State of Emergency and in the Gürün district of Sivas as of February 6, 2023, in the 25 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), apart from the general quota of programs that accept students through central placement at state universities in their own provinces.

Candidates who are enrolled in any higher education program, graduated from higher education program or have been dismissed as university students will not be able to benefit from the said quota.

Within the scope of the decision, Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology in the earthquake region, Adıyaman, Çukurova, Dicle, Fırat, Gaziantep, Gaziantep Islam Science and Technology, Harran, Hatay Mustafa Kemal, İnönü, İskenderun Teknik, Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam, Kahramanmaraş Istiklal, Kilis 7 December, Malatya Turgut Özal and Osmaniye Korkut Ata universities.

Earthquake survivor candidates will be able to choose from the programs within the scope of the additional quota allocated to them, together with the general quotas, depending on the number of preferences and considering the order of preference according to their priorities.

Apart from these quotas, 2547 quota will be allocated for each program at foundation universities, excluding the obligation to teach students with 15 percent scholarship stipulated in the Law No. 1, and excluding double diploma programs.

In case of enrollment in this quota allocated in central placement, a discounted or paid quota will be added to the program by taking the preference of the university during the additional placement as much as the quota registered.
