Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will start restoration works on September 9 and Montreux gates of Kültürpark, one of the symbols of the city, on May 31. The doors are planned to open on September 9 with a renewed face.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to renew the doors of Kulturpark, one of the historical and cultural heritages of the city, symbolizing the Republic of Turkey. Last year, the Lausanne Gate was restored within the scope of the renovation works initiated with the aim of protecting the natural texture of Kültürpark and protecting the city's memory. This year, the works will be started at the 9 September and Montreux gates of Kültürpark. Both doors will be restored in accordance with their historical figure. Work will begin on May 31. In order not to interrupt pedestrian traffic during the restoration works, a temporary pedestrian road will be built next to the 9 September gate. Entrances from the Montreux gate will also be provided from the Lausanne gate or the old İZFAŞ building. 2 million lira will be spent for the restoration of the entrance doors with a construction area of ​​793 thousand 21 square meters. It is aimed that the works will be completed by September 9, 2023.

Historical gates will be strengthened and renewed

Within the scope of the applications, parts of the buildings that have lost their strength in terms of carrier system and material quality will be rebuilt. Its protected parts will also be strengthened and free of unqualified attachments. In the closed spaces of the Kulturpark gates, there will be spaces open to the use of the citizens, such as the exhibition hall, ticket office, information desk, tourism office and WC. Within the scope of environmental regulations, flooring will be renewed using different natural stones, bicycle parking areas and lighting will be made. After the restoration of the Montreux and September 9 gates, the Metropolitan will also carry out restoration work on the Cumhuriyet and 26 August gates.
