In the series, Evan Peters starred as Jeffrey Dahmer, a serial killer who killed many people in and around the Midwest from the late 1970s to the 1990s.
Despite public outcry and fair criticism of the show's treatment of victims, Monster remains the fourth most popular Netflix series ever, after Squid Game, Stranger Things, and Wednesday.

Monster seasons 2 and 3 are coming
With the popularity of Monster, Netflix renewed the series for two more seasons almost instantly. The series premiered in September, and Netflix announced a multi-season renewal in November. That's a quick turnaround for a Netflix revamp!
Monster season 2 and the third season of the hit Netflix original series are officially running on Netflix.
Watcher's 2nd season was also announced along with Monster's renewal.
Monster will be an anthology series
Netflix also confirmed that Monster will be an anthology series, meaning viewers will get a different serial killer story each season. The series will likely focus on different serial killers and their victims in American history.
As of now, Netflix has not revealed who the second season of Monster will be about, but it will likely be announced in the next few months. It's hard to say where the creative team is in the development process. Ryan Murphy has a number of shows and projects he's working on but we have to assume Monster will take precedence on Netflix with the series being so popular.
Who is in the cast of Monster season 2?
So far, there is no one officially in the cast of Monster season 2. Netflix likes to keep things private for as long as possible and then give a big update when the news is ready. It is also very difficult to predict who will take part in the new season without knowing who the season is about.
However, there are many actors and actresses who have reappeared in Murphy's works, including Evan Peters, who may return for season 2 but in a different role. We know the Jeffrey Dahmer story has been told, and it won't be covered again in the new season.
Monster season 2 release date?
No, there is no release date for Monster season 2 yet. Still, it's not surprising at this point. It's only been six months since the revamp, and there's no known timeline for how long this might take, as they're effectively starting from scratch with this series.
We don't have enough information about the series yet to make an accurate prediction about the release date of Monster season 2. Usually when Netflix renews a series, they add “coming in 2023” or “coming in 2024” or something like that to the teaser or press release. That didn't happen in Monster season 2.
Currently, we don't have a chance to see Monster season 2023 in 2. Like many of these limited series, Monster season 2 probably won't be ready until at least 2024, and it could go even longer than that.
What could Monster season 2 be about?
As mentioned, Monster will be an anthology series, but powers have been suspiciously mum about what the season will be about. All we know so far, according to the Netflix press release, is that the series will continue to tell stories about "other monstrous figures influencing society."
This is so vague! Even though it is not explicitly stated that the new season will be about another serial killer, everyone thinks so. The term “beast” can be applied very freely.
Frankly, it seems likely that the series will be about another serial killer. We've heard rumors that it might be John Wayne Gacy or Ted Bundy, but it's hard to say whether these rumors come from people in the loop or just people speculating about the future of the series.
