BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) conducts more than 13 billion positioning searches per day, as announced at the 300th China Conference on Satellite Navigation. More than 26 people attended the 3-day conference, which opened in Beijing on Wednesday, April 4. Among them are local and foreign experts and scientists working in the field of satellite navigation. The theme of this year's conference is the digital economy and smart navigation.

BDS-3 has played a pivotal role in supporting economic and social development since it was completed and launched in 2020. Because of the mapping software, BDS was referenced more than 300 times a day for positioning purposes.

The total number of terminal products equipped with the BDS positioning function has exceeded 1,2 billion units in China. On the other hand, BDS served more than 7,9 million vehicles, 47 thousand ships and 40 thousand postal and express parcel services operating on main lines.

Meanwhile, there are common bicycles equipped with about 5 million BSD high-precision BDS positioning chips. In addition, mobile phones that provide BDS-3 short message forwarding service are also on sale. With the next generation BDS, an integrated and intelligent national space system that can dominate all over the world is expected to emerge in 2035.
