Official data show that China is making steady progress in the field of intellectual property exchange and cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative route. State Intellectual Property Office Manager Shen Changyu announced at the press conference that a total of 115 Belt and Road route countries have applied for 10 patent registrations to China in the last 253 years, with an annual average growth of 5,6 percent in this period.

Chinese executives have signed cooperation agreements with the regulatory authorities of 56 Belt and Road countries, Shen noted. On the other hand, the number of patent registration applications filed by Chinese entrepreneurs in the said countries was 2022 thousand in 12, an increase of 16,4 percent compared to the previous year.

In fact, a number of cooperation projects have come into effect between China and the Belt and Road countries; these include a legal policy reciprocity agreement, a postgraduate training program, and intellectual property awareness.
