'Goodness Station' Opened at IMM's Yenikapı Aid Collection Center

Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife, Dr. Under the leadership of Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, the 'Goodness Station' was opened at the Yenikapı Aid Collection Center of IMM with the slogan "The Heart of Solidarity Beats in Yenikapı". The 'Goodness Station', which was opened in cooperation with the Istanbul Foundation and the IMM Social Services Department, serves as a shop where victims can get clothes and certain basic necessities free of charge.

The two major earthquakes we experienced in Kahramanmaraş on February 6 and then the earthquake that occurred in Hatay on February 20 deeply saddened us all. Within the scope of the works carried out under the coordination of AFAD, the works of Istanbul intensified in Hatay. In addition to our teams that went to the region to participate in search and rescue efforts and other activities immediately after the earthquake, an aid organization was also started in Istanbul. Thousands of volunteers rushed to help and personally participated in the work at the logistics centers of IMM in Yenikapı and Kartal. Hundreds of truckloads of relief supplies were delivered to the region. In the aid center in Yenikapı, where only unused products were accepted and sent at the first stage, the 'Goodness Station' was opened in order to continue the solidarity by expanding.

THE HEART OF SOLIDARITY CONTINUES TO BEAT IN YENİKAPI

While the work continues at the İBB Yenikapı Aid Center for the delivery of aid trucks to the region, on the other hand, the 'Goodness Station', opened in cooperation with the Istanbul Foundation and the IMM Social Services Department, is a place where disaster victims who settled in Istanbul can obtain clothes and certain basic supplies. It serves as a shop. Products such as new and/or clean second-hand clothes for children, women and men, toys for children, basic hygiene materials can be purchased free of charge by the victims who come to the Goodness Station.

THERE WILL ALSO BE A CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND

There is also a 'Children's Playground' at the Goodness Station, where the victims of disasters who come with their children can leave their children to spend time while shopping.

The center where the products are provided by donation; It provides service 7 days a week, between 09.00:19.00 and 3:XNUMX. The duration of the 'Goodness Station', which is expected to remain open for XNUMX months initially, will be determined according to the needs assessment.
