Şanlıurfa Provincial Health Directorate visited the earthquake victims in Harran, Hacer Ana and Göbeklitepe dormitories in Harran University Osmanbey Campus and carried out cancer early detection activities.

The written statement from Şanlıurfa Provincial Health Directorate is as follows: “Cancer is the second leading cause of death after cardiovascular diseases. With early diagnosis, the heavy financial and moral burden of this disease can be prevented. In this context, Şanlıurfa Provincial Health Directorate visited the Harran, Hacer Ana and Göbeklitepe Dormitories in Harran University Osmanbey Campus and conducted on-site evaluation and early detection of cancer activities. In this framework, among the earthquake survivors staying in all dormitories, the population within the scope of the cancer screening program was directed to KETEM screening tools for HPV and smear screening, the female population aged 30-65, mammography screening of the female population aged 40-69, and colorectal cancer screening of the entire population aged 50-70. . In mobile mammography and KETEM vehicles, women over 30 were screened for cervical cancer, all women over 40 for breast cancer, and both men and women over 50 for colon cancer, which we call colon cancer.
