A City of 800 Containers Is Being Established in Adıyaman

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu, during his visit to the container city in Adıyaman, explained that there was a very feverish activity in Adıyaman, as in other provinces affected by the earthquake. Stating that they are working hard to rebuild and return to normal life, Karaismailoğlu said, “As in 11 provinces, we are doing the infrastructure works of an area of 800 containers in the region behind us. Hopefully, as of tomorrow, we will place our containers in this region and start hosting our earthquake victims. Likewise, there is an intensive study in 14 regions of Adıyaman. As of this week, we will start taking our citizens into our containers," he said.

OUR DECREASE REMOVAL WORK CONTINUES WITH HUNDREDS OF CONSTRUCTION MACHINES

Karaismailoğlu stated that there is no problem with tents in Adıyaman and that the needs in the villages are also met, and that the animal tents are sent to the villages and the debris removal works are continuing intensively. Minister Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“Currently, we have removed more than 100 debris, and our debris removal work continues with hundreds of construction machines. There is also an extraordinary activity in the excavation dump sites. Hopefully, all our institutions are doing a great self-sacrificing work to ensure life here. We have to revive the Adıyaman Governorship and municipality. Because their arms and wings were broken in this earthquake. We also support them with our other municipalities and other institutions, and we raise them up. Life in a tent is difficult, especially at night. We also live in the coldest days of winter. Even though the weather has softened a little these days, days pass with the stove and electric heater in the tent. Hopefully, when we transfer them to containers, they will have entered a more regular life, albeit partially. On the one hand, new permanent residences are planned, and the foundations will be laid in the coming days. We have a year ahead of us. After a year, I hope, after rebuilding these places, there will be a more orderly life than before. No one should doubt that.”

WE MEET ALL THE NEEDS OF OUR CITIZENS

Saying that the Ministry meets the transportation needs of the citizens, Karaismailoğlu said that several roads damaged in the earthquake area were repaired in a short time. Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu stated that thanks to durable roads, transportation is provided uninterruptedly and concluded his words as follows:

“There is still activity in the airlines. We meet all the needs of our citizens. In other words, our trains, stations, wagons hosted our citizens and met their shelter needs. Especially in the Hatay region, we have carried out all our supplies from the sea, quite a lot of ports. Now we are hosting our earthquake victims on our ships. We dock our ships to Iskenderun ports. In addition, the PTT heavily loaded the region with all its distribution channels, and they met all the urgent needs of our citizens on the first day with the delivery vehicles they made. They are still continuing.”
