Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay met with the members of TSYD Konya Branch and the sports press. Stating that the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games will be the most important organization in the history of Konya, President Altay invited all sports lovers and all Konya residents to the opening ceremony of the games to be held on Tuesday, August 9, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Expressing that they will host a gigantic organization attended by 56 athletes from 4.200 countries, President Altay thanked his most important stakeholders, the press and the sports press, for their support so far, and said, "I believe we will succeed in this work together." said.

Stating that they have completed all the preparations for the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, which will be the most important organization in Konya's history, President Altay started his speech by emphasizing that Konya has gained very important facilities during the preparation process.

Noting that the full olympic swimming pool, athletics track, grass pitches, and finally the first olympic velodrome of Turkey, which were opened with the participation of Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, stand out as the most important facilities Konya has won, President Altay said, “However, We continue to witness that the organization has now started in our city. Because the sports caravans started to arrive gradually. Yesterday we made the first start of the hour bike race.” said.

Reminding that they will hold the opening of the 9th Islamic Solidarity Games with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, heads of state and sports ministers of many countries at 20.00 on Tuesday, August 5, President Altay continued as follows: “It is very important for the opening. We are making preparations. The final rehearsal will take place tonight. A two and a half hour show is being prepared. An important presentation of the whole of Turkey will take place here. In addition, Maher Zain, one of the important artists of the Islamic world, will meet the people of Konya with a concert at 20.00:9 before the opening ceremony. I invite all Konya residents to take their places at the opening. There is a very high demand.
