However, nearly 1 million of our people do not take part in any economic activity. "At this point, our center aims to make the unemployed population professional and to bring them into employment in line with the demands from the sector." he said. Stating that vocational education is not only a way to shape the future of individuals, but also one of the cornerstones of the development of societies and countries, İbrahim Burkay said, “A strong future is only possible with a well-constructed vocational education system. As BTSO, we see our investment in education as the most profitable investment that does not cause any loss under any circumstances. In this context, acting with the understanding of "investing in people is an investment in the future", we have carried out many important projects aimed at vocational training, raising professional standards and employment." said.

EXAMPLE PROJECT IN EMPLOYMENT
BTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors, İbrahim Burkay, stated that they implemented the BTSO Culinary Academy project in line with the needs of the food and beverage, tourism and accommodation sectors and said, “Kitchen Academy, with its understanding of social responsibility, undertakes an important task in integrating our women, youth and disadvantaged individuals into business life. In this context, we are carrying out very important work together with Bursa Probation Directorate. Today, we signed an important cooperation protocol that will take our work in this field one step further. In line with the regional workforce needs of our sector, we will organize employment-oriented vocational training courses for criminals whose sentences have been executed at Bursa Probation Directorate. Our primary goal here is to support disadvantaged individuals' participation in employment through vocational training and to facilitate their social adaptation by making them useful individuals for society. “I hope that the protocol we have signed will be beneficial for our institutions and our city.” said.

“I FIND THE PROTOCOL VERY VALUABLE IN CREATING AWARENESS”
Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz said that BTSO is a very valuable institution and that it has demonstrated a will with the Mutfak Akademi project. Stating that Turkey has a population of 85 million, Solmaz said, “All our citizens are valuable to us. At this point, with the will of our BTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors and his colleagues, a model that all our citizens can benefit from has been created. We have people who do not consider their own education sufficient and who cannot achieve the standard of living they want with that education. We will solve this problem of our citizens through our cooperation. I find the protocol we signed very valuable in terms of raising awareness. With the training received here, job owners will find our disadvantaged groups without having to look for a job. “I would like to thank BTSO President Mr. İbrahim Burkay, BTSO Board Member Abidin Şakir Özen and BTSO Council Member Irmak Aslan for bringing the project to this stage.” he said.

“VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IS THE FOUNDATION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT”
BTSO Board Member Abidin Şakir Özen said that vocational education forms the basis of economic development in Turkey. Stating that Bursa has a great potential in the field of vocational and technical education with its strong industry, Özen said, “Today, we signed the vocational education cooperation protocol with BUTGEM and our Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the scope of the protocol we signed in 2018, we enabled 100 trainees from disadvantaged groups to gain a profession. The protocol we signed today will enable disadvantaged groups in terms of employment, such as those under probation or ex-convicts, to have a profession. Priority will be given to the employment of our trainees who successfully complete the course. “I hope that the protocol, which we believe will strengthen qualified employment, will be beneficial to our city and our country.” said.

Following the speeches, BTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors and Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz signed the 'Vocational Education Cooperation Protocol'.
