A meeting was held with stakeholder organizations at the Career Center Branch Directorate, chaired by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Serdal Gökayaz. Evaluation of the work done at the meeting attended by organizations such as Mersin University, Tarsus University, Çağ University, Toros University, Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mersin TEKNOPARK, General Secretariat of the Mediterranean Exporters' Association, Mersin-Tarsus Agricultural Product Processing Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, Entrepreneur Human Resources Association. and 2024 period projects were discussed. One of the main topics discussed was the 'Mersin 4.0: Future of Sectors' program.

INTER-INSTITUTIONAL COOPERATION WAS KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF PROJECTS

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Career Center Branch Manager Serkan Özada, in his evaluation at the meeting; He stated that the most important factor in the success of the studies carried out so far was the correct construction of the needs analysis and cooperation between institutions. Stating that they will bring many projects to Mersin in the 2024 period, Özada stated that they will realize the 'Campus Mersin, Garage Mersin, Career Mersin Website, Employment, Vocational Training, Career and Entrepreneurship, Mersin 4.0 Future of Sectors' programs based on inter-institutional cooperation. .

MERSİN 4.0: WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF THE SECTORS PROGRAM?

The 'Mersin 4.0 Future of Sectors' program, which will be implemented with the motto 'From Tradition to the Future', will take place periodically throughout the year in the form of various economic sectoral groups. The program will include the innovations, opportunities and challenges brought by 4.0, and will share the future needs and expectations of the business world. The program aims to provide participants with the necessary competencies to be successful in the digital transformation process and make it easier for them to adapt to change in the industry. In this context, the first program will be held on March 6. In each program, academic and practical applications from experts in the field will be shown regarding the digital transformation processes of different sectors. The program to be carried out; It is important for all parties of the labor market, especially business life, students, non-governmental organizations, academia and professional managers.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Serdal Gökayaz stated that they are trying to move forward by researching and discussing together with city stakeholders and actors in all their projects. Gökayaz said, “We look at all studies this way. "So, with common sense and common decision, we are trying to find the best solution together," he said.

Stating that they attach great importance to career and digitalization, Gökayaz said, “For example, it seems that we started out with the Career Center and career finding a job, but look, we are now talking about the digital transformation of the sectors. This is a very important, very valuable thing. What can we do here? Simply put, we can create awareness in the first place. It makes us happy that these are being discussed, both for our city, for the country, and for the fact that a local government is interested in these issues and that our good practice is being seen elsewhere. Good things can be evaluated by different managements. This is also very important. We hope that this will bring about a transformation in the national sense. Career Center Manager Serkan Özada said that, as the Career Center, they evaluated the work they carried out before the 2024 period with the stakeholders and said, “We exchanged ideas about the projects we will do in the coming period. Especially the topic 'Mersin 4.0 Future of Sectors' will be our focus. Together with our stakeholders, we exchanged ideas on issues such as which guests we should host, which topics we should touch upon, and which sectors we should prioritize in this program, which will last about a year. We are realizing our plan and program. We will launch our first program on March 6. "As the Career Center, we will continue our cooperation with all stakeholders of the business world," he said.

Fatma Zehra Yıldız, Tarsus University Career Center Official, stated that she thought that they were behind some developments after a program she attended in Istanbul, but this thought disappeared with the new projects of the Career Center and said, "I think it will serve a very important need. You have captured a very good point in order not to fall behind the times. Both Human Resources processes, businesses and employees must change in terms of competence. Stating that they will work on international vocational training, digitalization and digital transformation, MTSO President Advisor Ercan Akın stated that they are carrying out parallel activities with the Career Center and said, “In this sense, many things are going parallel and we are happy about this. BPET CEO H. Yücel Koç stated that the Career Center makes a significant contribution to Mersin in terms of digital transformation and said, “I am looking at your city from the outside.
