Istanbul and Belgrade Met in 'War and Peace'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters presented the play "War and Peace" to the Belgrade audience within the framework of international cooperation with the Yugoslav Drama Theatre.

City Theaters hosted Yugoslav Drama Theatre's play "King Oedipus" at Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage on 22 and 23 January. Upon the invitation from Serbia, "War and Peace" met with the Belgrade audience.

“War and Peace”, written by Lev Tolstoy, adapted by Eva Mahkovic, translated by Aslı Önal and directed by Aleksandar Popovski, was staged at the Yugoslav Drama Theater on Sunday, April 21 at 19.00.

The play, which is an important step in the development of cultural relations between Türkiye and Serbia, received full marks from the Belgrade audience.

"War and Peace" met with the Hungarian audience at the Budapest National Theater on Thursday, April 1923, as part of the cultural year celebrated mutually by Turkey and Hungary on the 100th anniversary of the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Treaty signed in 18.

Receiving an invitation from the 11th MITEM International Theater Meeting held in Budapest, Hungary, known as one of the largest festivals in Europe, IMM City Theaters participated in the festival with the adaptation of Tolstoy's immortal work War and Peace.
