Free train travel to Europe begins. Anyone over the age of 18 can apply for free train travel. Young people who apply to the program will be able to travel within Europe for 1 days between July 2024, 30 and September 2025, 30.

The European Union Commission announced that tens of thousands of train tickets will be distributed to young people over the age of 18 within the scope of the "DiscoverEU" program. According to the statement made by Brussels, the total number of train tickets to be offered to young people was determined as 35,500. Young people who want to win one of these tickets must have a birth date between 1 July 2005 and 30 June 2006 and pass the test consisting of 5 questions about the EU and one complementary question.

Young people who apply to the program will be able to travel within Europe for 1 days between July 2024, 30 and September 2025, 30. In addition to EU countries, applications will also be accepted from Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey. Young people with disabilities or health problems will be able to receive support during travel.

The quota allocated for applications from Turkey was determined as 1,476 people. The highest quota was allocated to Germany with 6,104 people, France with 4,946 people, Italy with 4,364 people and Spain with 3,476 people. 16 people for North Macedonia, 17 people for Liechtenstein and 18 people for Serbia were the countries with the least quota among the countries allocated to the quota. In the statement made by the European Youth Portal, it was emphasized that young people who have previously won a DiscoverEU travel card do not have the right to apply for a new one.
