Gave Public Communication Training to Future Police in TRNC

Near East University Lifelong Education Center (YABEM) continues its training that will contribute to the development of individuals and professional groups with its expert instructor staff and modern education technologies. YABEM, which provides free "Public Contact and Communication" training at the TRNC Police School, has carried out an important study on how future police officers can establish healthy communication with the public.

With the program organized by YABEM, Near East University Faculty Member Asst. Assoc. Dr. Tijen Zeybek shared important information with the training she gave that will ensure healthier and more trust-based relations between the police and citizens.

The police stand out as not only the law-enforcing force of a state, but also the face of the state that is in closest contact with the public and ensures the security of the society. Effective communication with the public plays a major role in helping the police force understand the needs of the society, gain their trust and provide their support. In this respect, the education provided by YABEM also has great meaning for the society.

Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Hürsen: “We will continue our aim of increasing social participation and strengthening social harmony without slowing down.”

Emphasizing that the concept of lifelong education has a fundamental role in the professional and personal development of individuals, Near East University Lifelong Education Center Director Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Hürsen said, “Today, in an age where social dynamics are changing rapidly, the role of the police and society's expectations from them are constantly evolving. "In this process of change, effective communication skills and people-oriented approaches of police officers are critical for them to establish a healthy relationship with the society," he said.

"With the training we provided, we aimed to provide future police officers with information and perspective on how to develop a trust-based and healthy police-citizen relationship," said Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Hürsen said, “Such events are extremely important in terms of strengthening the police force and its ties with the society.
