The first day of Istanbul Fintech Week (IFW'24), which was organized for the fifth time this year by KOOP Ventures with the support of the Financial Innovation and Technology Association (FINTR) and continues today, hosted interesting sessions. In the afternoon program of IFW'2, themed "Convergence: Web3 and Web24 Worlds Coming Together", which was followed with great interest throughout the day, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan and Historian Writer Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı's sessions came to the fore.

Central Bank Deputy Governor Prof. stated that developments in financial technologies have a very important place on the agenda of all central banks, including their own. Stating that central banks are at the forefront of digitalization as institutions that oversee financial stability, Karahan said, “Every technological development that affects the monetary architecture brings new benefits and risks. At this point, as central banks, we are responsible for ensuring the stability and security of money and payments. "It is very important to examine the evolving role of central banks from this perspective," he said, adding that in the field of financial technologies, central banks should focus on two main points: 'encouraging and adopting innovation' and 'reducing risks to ensure financial stability'.
