Drawing attention to the importance of environmental factors in the formation of cancer, Prof. Dr. Kamer said that 90 percent of cancers develop due to environmental factors and 10 percent due to genetic factors. Noting that 30 to 50 percent of today's cancers can be prevented by vaccination or by preventing environmental factors such as tobacco use, alcohol consumption, being overweight or obese, and exposure to cancer-causing infections. Dr. Kamer added that nutrition and environmental factors are one of the most blamed reasons for the transformation of normal cells into cancerous cells.
