IN OBESITY SURGERY, THE METHOD THAT IS MOST SUITABLE FOR THE PERSON SHOULD BE PREFERRED.

Assoc. Prof. stated that the method most suitable for the person should be preferred in obesity surgery and talked about these methods. Dr. Ufuk Arslan said, “Stomach reduction surgery, also called gastric sleeve surgery, is a surgical weight loss application. This treatment is typically performed laparoscopically. During gastric sleeve surgery, approximately 80% of the stomach is removed, leaving a banana-sized and tube-shaped stomach. Stomach botox is a weight loss method based on endoscopically injecting Botulinum toxin into certain areas of the stomach. In this method, the contraction of the stomach muscles is limited, gastric emptying time is delayed and the patient experiences loss of appetite, thus weight loss is achieved. Gastric balloon is also a non-surgical intervention to help lose weight. A soft, round, inflatable balloon made of medical-grade silicone is placed through the mouth into the stomach without the need for surgery. "After being placed in the stomach, the empty balloon is filled with liquid, where it works to reduce appetite and prolong the feeling of fullness by taking up space," he said.
