Büyükkılıç Spoke at the Ab-Kayseri Business Forum

Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç attended the European Union-Kayseri Business Forum 2024 Program hosted by Kayseri Chamber of Commerce (KTO) at the M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu Conference Hall.

In addition to Mayor Büyükkılıç, Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, TOBB President M. Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu, AK Party Kayseri Deputy, European Union Harmonization Commission. Member Murat Cahid Cıngı, CHP Kayseri Deputy Aşkın Genç, chamber and stock exchange presidents and ambassadors of European Union member countries attended.

Speaking at the European Union-Kayseri Business Forum 2024 Program, which started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, President Büyükkılıç stated that they hosted 18 ambassadors in Kayseri and said, "Our Chamber of Commerce, which exhibits the best examples of Turkish hospitality, is hosted by the esteemed president." "I would like to thank our esteemed president and his valuable team for such a meaningful and important work," he said.

Büyükkılıç pointed out that Kayseri, which is known as the city of industry and commerce, has the richness of having hosted different civilizations and said, “It is a producer with the understanding of being worthy of its city and country, trying to be self-sufficient, never thinking of being a burden and always being helpful, holding people's hands, and being worthy of its city and country.” It is a city full of creative and innovative people. Of course we love our city. We thank those who contributed. "One of our most important features is that we strive to display the best examples of unity, solidarity and solidarity in our city," he said.

Underlining that they always attach importance to serving and producing good municipalism, Mayor Büyükkılıç said:

“I would like to share our city with you, present these beauties to you, and express that we will try to give more people the opportunity to get to know this place in the coming periods, both commercially and with its tourism potential, and most importantly, with our tourism-oriented work with our ski resort. Our city is the center of science, the center of innovative understanding, and as local administrators, we always attach importance to serving all 1 million 500 thousand people in our city and producing good municipalism, without segregating or marginalizing them, as required by democracy. Thank God, we are on a good path. We are also aware that we are a city that has made a name for itself in Turkey and Europe with its municipality approach, which is described as the Kayseri Model in the context of local government services. I would like to share that we will show the will to do more together.”

Stating that they will make even more efforts to bring Kayseri to a position that everyone will point to as a world city, Büyükkılıç added that Kayseri is known as the metropolitan municipality that allocates the most share to investment among 30 metropolitan cities and is ranked first.

Governor Gökmen Çiçek said, “I know that our head of delegation and ambassadors went to many places in Turkey and visited many provinces and even had the opportunity to see many cities where they had previously served. Wherever they go, city administrators tell them about the cities. And they say this is the most beautiful place and paradise in the world. But now I'm saying something. This is real heaven. Kayseri Chamber of Commerce President Ömer Gülsoy, who shared his knowledge and views on the commercial relations between Turkey and the European Union, also made requests and recommendations. Gülsoy talked about Kayseri in his speech and stated that Kayseri is an ancient city with plenty of entrepreneurs. Describing Kayseri as the city where the firsts occur, Gülsoy added that the first medical school in the world was established in Kayseri, and on the other hand, the information on the tablets unearthed in Kültepe Kaniş-Karum includes the first commercial correspondence, promissory notes and women entrepreneurs, adding that Kayseri has many firsts. He stated that he had it in his possession. Stating that the only valid language in the world is trade, Gülsoy said that trade has no religion, language or race and said, "We say that there is no trade without transportation, and there is no life without trade."
