Visit to Malatya Container City from Dokuz Eylül Teams

DEU, which has reached cities in the earthquake zone with over 2 thousand volunteers from different units to date, continues to set an example for Turkey with the solidarity it demonstrates.

DEU Rector Prof. Dr. University members, who once again visited the cities affected by the earthquake under the coordination of Nükhet Hotar, met with the disaster-affected citizens in Malatya Teknokent Container City. Not forgetting the children, DEU teams celebrated the new year of the children affected by the earthquake and distributed gifts.

Delivering new social responsibility and support projects to the region, DEU has so far provided 7 Mobile Drinking Water Purification Facilities, Common Kitchen Units, service units where health screenings take place, accommodation and education areas, spiritual consultancy services, Bazaar Living Space Project as an attempt to revitalize economic life, It brought many social projects such as waste disposal, science, children's and art workshops for children, and sports activities.

Evaluating the visit, Rector Hotar noted that Dokuz Eylül University continues to establish the historical responsibility it assumed and the solidarity it created in the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes on solid foundations. Stating that more than 100 volunteer teams have reached the earthquake region and carried out support activities so far, Rector Hotar announced that they came to Malatya again to contribute to new developments, visit DEU's service bases in the region and meet with citizens.

Hotar said, “We visited our earthquake-affected families at their homes in Malatya Teknokent Container City, where we participated with our volunteer professors and students from different faculties within our Research University; We listened to your problems. "We immediately started working to meet the needs in line with the demands in the region, where we continue our support activities under the leadership of our state," he said.

Regarding DEU's visit to Adıyaman, Adıyaman Governor Dr. Osman Varol, Adıyaman Mayor Süleyman Kılınç and Adıyaman Provincial Director of National Education Ali Tosun also shared their feelings.
