Three years ago, a Tasmanian devil was brought back into the wild for the first time after living in captivity. Now the brand new mom has a pup to melt.

In 2020, "Lisa the Adventurer" and 10 other Tasmanian devils were reintroduced to mainland Australia, which went extinct about 3.000 years ago. Now Lisa has given birth to three cubs to support the growing population of these tiny marsupials.

“This is a great example of how returning a species to its home can bring an entire ecosystem back into the wild,” said Janice Chanson, senior partner in Re:wild species conservation. “This is particularly important for tackling climate change and biodiversity loss, and for improving the overall health of our planet.
