The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC), the highest consultation platform for dried fruits and nuts around the world, will be held for the 40th time this year in London on 22-24 May.

Emphasizing that the NC Congress is the only international event related to the dried fruit industry, Ahmet Bilge Göksan, the Turkish Ambassador of the International Dry and Nuts Council (INC), said that EIB has been representing our country and our industry by participating in INC Congresses for many years.

Ahmet Bilge Göksan said, “Turkey is the main production center in the world for many products such as hazelnuts, figs, apricots and grapes. We export to over 150 countries around the world. The INC Congress will bring together 60 leading names in the dried and shelled fruit industry from 300 different countries for three days this year in London. The United Kingdom is the 75th largest consumer of nuts in the world, with a domestic consumption of 15 tons. The most consumed nuts are; cashews (30 percent), almonds (26 percent), walnuts (15 percent), hazelnuts (13 percent) and pistachios (6 percent). In the last 10 years, nut consumption has increased by 5 percent per year. It is the eighth consumer country in the world in dry fruit consumption with 92 thousand 600 tons. It is the second market to which we export the most after Germany. We export 154 million dollars of dried fruit annually to the United Kingdom. We will also review the latest statistics on yield forecasts, supply, demand and trade for products across the entire dried fruit industry.” used his statements.

President Göksan said, “As Aegean Exporters' Associations, which realizes 75 percent of Turkey's organic product exports, we are the pioneer in sustainability among exporters' associations in our country. Sustainable supply chain management will be discussed with the participation of academics from the world's most important universities such as Cambridge University at the Sustainability Seminar at the INC Congress, and the new INC Sustainability Project to increase forest wealth will be introduced. In the Nutrition Research Seminar, the health benefits of dried fruits, which have become one of the rising trends in the world with the change in consumption habits, will be discussed. At the same time, the importance of identifying young talents will be focused on with the participation of many top names from the world press such as the Financial Times. Awards in the Innovation Award and Sustainability categories will also be presented to the leaders of the sector.” said.
