The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) announced that the end-of-term exams at universities will be held after 1 June.
According to the statement made by the Council of Higher Education, at the meeting held yesterday by the Higher Education Executive Board, it was decided to hold the end-of-term exams after 1 June in order to prevent the students from experiencing unjust treatment. In addition, this decision of the universities, which decided to conduct the exams of the programs with face-to-face education, and to conduct the exams of the programs with online education, was supported. The decision taken at the meeting held yesterday was conveyed to the universities today.

“The effects of the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş in our country, the housing conditions of our citizens and students affected by the earthquake, social conditions and sustainable education processes were evaluated and the issue of not starting the end of the 2022-2023 academic year spring semester exams before June 1, 2023 was examined at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting on May 17, 2023. and 2022-2023 academic year end-of-term exams will be held after June 1, 2023.”
The statement of YÖK President Erol Özvar on the subject on his social media account is as follows:
“At the Higher Education Executive Board meeting we held yesterday, we decided to hold the end-of-term exams at universities after 1 June in order to prevent our students from being victimized. We conveyed our decision to our universities today.”
