Speaking at the opening program, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said that Adana Museum Complex ranks first in Turkey and 5th in the world in terms of size.

Explaining that the museum complex, which has a total area of ​​approximately 61 thousand square meters, is planned in 3 stages, Minister Ersoy continued as follows:

“In the multi-purpose Adana Museum Complex, there will be museums such as archeology, mosaic, city, agriculture, industry, cinema and literature and national fabrics. There will also be indoor and outdoor activity areas such as an open-air cinema, citrus orchard, library cafe, conference hall, exhibition hall, restaurant. With its museums, cafes, library, exhibitions, open-air cinema, this complex will become a 24-hour living structure with the social activities we will organize. We aimed the same thing at the Istanbul Rami Library. Thankfully, this place will now become a frequent destination for everyone from 7 to 77.”

Ersoy stated that the Historical Alsancak Tekel Factory, which they will open tomorrow in İzmir, will be the “heart of culture, art and life” and said:

“Our museum in Adana ranks first in Turkey and 5th in the world in terms of size. This campus is also the largest museum complex in the Middle East. This place, which will be the richest museum complex in Turkey and the Middle East in terms of collection diversity, will also gain the title of the largest structure of the registered industrial heritage converted into a public museum complex. As Turkey's only public museum designed as an environmentally friendly and green building, we have brought this building, which will become the museum complex with the largest indoor and outdoor activity area in Turkey, to Adana.”

Expressing his thanks to Ömer Çelik for being the “idea father” of the project and following every stage of it, Ersoy explained that Çelik not only started the project but also tried his best to complete it.
