The ski facility to be established on Göndeliç Mountain, which borders the Mesudiye district of Kabadüz district, is preparing to become the largest ski facility in the country in terms of area and capacity.

Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Under the leadership of Mehmet Hilmi Güler, the 2nd tourism zone is being established in Çambaşı Plateau for the developing winter sports, mountain, nature and highland tourism in Ordu. It is foreseen that Çambaşı Ski Center will not meet the increasing demands in the future, and the new facility needed is being implemented on Göndeliç Mountain at an altitude of 2 in Kabadüz district.

For the new facility, which is 10 km away from Çambaşı Ski Center and will be a continuation of this facility, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality applied to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and received a report on the suitability of Göndeliç Mountain for ski tourism.

IT WILL BE THE LARGEST OF ALL EXISTING SKI CENTERS

The new facility, which will be built in addition to the Çambaşı Ski Center, which is not expected to meet the future demands with its area and capacity, will be built on an area of 1.994 thousand hectares between the altitudes of 2 and 736. The facility, which will be the continuation of the existing ski center with a capacity of 4 thousand per day, will be able to host 4 thousand people per day.

In this context, the facility is nominated to be the largest of all existing ski centers in Turkey in terms of area and capacity.

WINTER SPORTS CAN BE DONE FOR A LONGER TIME

Despite the driest winter month of the 2022-2023 ski season, it was observed that the ski slopes on Göndeliç Mountain started to reach the level in December. While the ski season without artificial snow will take place for a period of 2,5 months without artificial snow in the existing Çambaşı Ski Center, a ski season can be made for 5 months without artificial snow in the newly established facility.

In this sense, the fact that winter sports can be carried out for a longer period of time in the facility to be established will make Göndeliç one of the first choices of domestic and foreign tourists.

IT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL WINTER SPORTS

Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, sledding, snowtube, ice rink etc. Göndeliç, which will be suitable for all winter sports and touristic activities, will contribute significantly to Ordu's winter tourism.
