Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin announced that they will provide financial support to earthquake-affected high school and university students residing in Nurdağı and İslahiye.

Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin, in her statement, said that they will provide 600 liras in cash to all high school students and one thousand liras to university students in Nurdağı and İslahiye, the districts most affected by the earthquake in Gaziantep.

Mentioning the details of the application for the scholarship support to be given to the students, President Şahin stated that the students can make their applications from the ALO 153 call line or from the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality's Women-Friendly City application.

600 LIRA FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND A THOUSAND LIRA FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN CASH SUPPORT

Reminding that for the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 11 TL in cash support is still ongoing for the children who received formal education in the 12th and 1.200th grades in cooperation with the Gaziantep Governorship and the Provincial Directorate of National Education, Şahin said, “Last year, this is what we started. As part of the aid, we were going to start our second training support this week. Here we made a decision. With this decision, we will provide education support of 9 lira to our 10th, 11th, 12th, 600th grade children residing in Nurdağı and İslahiye, and a thousand lira to our children who go to university.”

President Şahin pointed out that the support provided is important in order to make education sustainable under all circumstances, and said, “We have made great efforts to meet this need, from study centers to children's libraries, to our GASMEKs, in the system we have established even in this emergency period, until schools are opened in the education life of one of our children who were affected by the earthquake. Our schools are now open. When our schools started, we decided to provide such support to meet this need of our children.”
