We shared our silent cries, saying that this pain is our pain. We wanted to be the voice that could not be heard from under the debris. We wanted to say that we do not let go of our hands. We are here today to be the voice of those who could not be heard in the earthquake, to share that we heard the voice that could not be heard from the wreckage, that we are here, that there is someone out there. The earthquake survivor from Adıyaman told about their experiences

The earthquake survivor Abidin Harputluoğlu, who came to İzmir from Adıyaman, touched upon the problems experienced and said: “The earthquake did not kill it. Help came too late to the area. People froze to death. I hope no one experiences anything like this. I came to Izmir after the earthquake. I am physically disabled. I would like to thank our president, he allocated me a battery car to make my life easier.”

After the speeches, President Soyer left carnations at the Izmir Earthquake Monument. Participants also commemorated the earthquake victims by lighting candles and leaving carnations.
