The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues its activities in the region with its affiliated and related organizations in order to heal the wounds after the earthquake disaster, which is called the 'disaster of the century'.

In addition to the search and rescue activities in the regions affected by the earthquake, the Ministry and related organizations, which carry out their activities in many areas in order to meet the urgent needs and protect the livestock of the breeders, rush to the aid of the citizens.

The Meat and Dairy Institution has been on the side of the disaster victims from the first day with a series of activities. IHC, which continues to purchase animals from earthquake-affected producers, takes delivery of cattle and small cattle from the disaster-affected producers, which are left unattended or do not have a means of care.

Quickly responding to the purchase demands of earthquake-affected producers through its combinations, ESK implements a special purchase price policy for the producers in the region.

Institution officials take delivery of the animals that the producer cannot take care of, if they request it. Adana, Diyarbakır, Sivas and Bingöl combines are working day and night in the field to receive the animals of the producers in the earthquake zone. The slaughtered animals taken from their place are sent to the combines, and the young or pregnant animals are sent to the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises for their care and feeding.

Raw Milk Purchases

Meat and Dairy Institution also evaluates the raw milk purchase demands of breeders in earthquake regions. To date, approximately 5 tons of milk produced by the breeders in the region has been collected and brought into production within the scope of the studies carried out with the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, producer organizations and the private sector.

While the refrigerated trucks and trucks belonging to the Meat and Milk Institution continue to deliver food to the region from the first day of the disaster under the coordination of the Provincial Red Crescent and AFAD Directorates, Adana Meat Combine Management is used as a 'Distribution and Warehouse Center'.

While IHC has sent 90 tons of meat products and 7 tons of milk and dairy products to the region for the disaster victims, 15 tons of meat products are ready for shipment.

In addition, meat products and canned goods from ovine and bovine animals given to the IHC by philanthropists to be sent to the earthquake region are delivered to the Red Crescent.

On the other hand, the breeders in the earthquake area can contact the IHC's Feeder Line at 0800 314 10 00 regarding their demands and problems.
