Emphasizing that it is the noble sons of the Turkish nation who will heal the wounds of the disaster, Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that together with 16 district municipalities, they continue to work on whatever the need is in the earthquake zone at any time.
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, together with the mayors of Kocasinan, Talas and Hacılar as municipalities in the city, sent 20 cleaning vehicles and 100 more personnel to the earthquake area in line with the demands of the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu.
After two earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş and affecting 10 provinces, all district municipalities, especially Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, continue to support the earthquake zone at full speed.
In this context, Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that as the municipalities in Kayseri, they are making a great effort to meet all the needs there in order to plan the smallest needs in the earthquake area and to make the lives of the citizens and working teams easier.
Mayor Büyükkılıç, together with Kocasinan Mayor Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar, Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın and Hacılar Mayor Bilal Özdoğan, sent 20 cleaning vehicles and 100 personnel to the earthquake zone at the Kocasinan Municipality Workshop in Karpuzatan.
Büyükkılıç said goodbye to 20 cleaning vehicles and 100 personnel one by one, and wished ease in the work to be done, in order to avoid any problems in the field of health in the region, in line with the demands of the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu.

Making a statement here, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, “As Kayseri has always been in the direction of doing its part since the earthquake, under the leadership of our AFAD, our Governorship, both our Metropolitan Municipality and our Melikgazi, Kocasinan, Talas and Hacılar in the center. Everyone is doing their best with the cooperation of all 16 district municipalities. You hear and observe the sacrifices of our Chamber of Industry, Chamber of Commerce, Stock Exchange, non-governmental organizations, and organized industries.”
“THIS NATION'S PRINCIPAL SONS ARE WHO SHALL BACK THESE WOUNDS AGAIN”
Emphasizing that it is the Turkish nation, that is, the noble sons of this nation, who will heal these wounds again, Büyükkılıç said:
“While we are trying to heal the wounds there, we also make an effort to welcome our guests who come to our city from there in the best way possible, in the field of health, in the field of rest, in the field of food and all kinds of services. The Turkish nation, which will heal these wounds by ensuring our unity and solidarity under the leadership of our Honorable President, are the noble sons of this nation. We will all join hands, heart to heart. We will think about how we can heal this wound. Needs change step by step. With the instructions of our Minister of Interior, they had requests for garbage trucks and containers. We have sent some before, we are at a time when tent cities and field hospitals have to make sacrifices in order to meet their services.”
“WE CONTINUE OUR WORK EVERYWHERE TO FIND THE NEEDS OF ALL 10 CITIES”
Addressing the personnel who will go to the earthquake area, President Büyükkılıç said, “You are our self-sacrificing brothers who will heal this wound and do these works. We try to do everything we can. We are trying to work to direct and send around 20 garbage trucks and 100 garbage containers there. In addition to our Kahramanmaraş, we continue our work in Malatya, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, Osmaniye, Hatay, all over the place to meet the needs of all 10 provinces.
Stating that all municipalities are mobilized, Büyükkılıç said, “Our rescue teams, especially the fire brigade, are there, our sprinklers, water tankers, vacuum trucks, our electricity company, KASKİ, are there in terms of infrastructure. The means of all our municipalities have been mobilized, and we will continue to work towards whatever the need is at any time," he said.
Mayor Büyükkılıç, emphasizing that everyone from the country and abroad, from our brother in the farthest corner to our brother in the centre, is supported in the earthquake zone, said, “Here again, in the context of hosting our citizens, our social facilities, sports facilities, as it will be remembered, especially in our KYK dormitories, have been felt twice in Kayseri. You are following the mobilization and hosting of our schools, mosques, all our facilities. Now, thank God, our citizens got over that uneasiness, they are slowly withdrawing to their homes, we care about that too.”
Büyükkılıç underlined that there were around 4 reports after the earthquake in Kayseri, and said:
“When we say that nothing serious happened in the earthquake in Kayseri, we do not mean that nothing happened. Here we share it in your presence. There are about 4 reports. More than a thousand of them were examined after the works of our Ministry of Environment and Urbanization by asking support from us as of last night, and they stated that there are problems in 3 buildings, of course, plaster spills, minor damages, cracks in the other structures, but there is no problem in the carrier units. . This shows that, without being too worried in this sense, I ask them to forward their complaints, if any, to the relevant authority, the unit that will contact our Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, which we call Hello 181, and then go inside, and if there is no problem, it is outwardly that they approach normalization as we say without worry. Because now we are heading towards the period of having guests from that region. This is important, we hope and believe that they will accept this with understanding. We are always there for you if needed. In other words, we count since the valuable Melikgazi, Kocasinan, Talas and Hacılar are in the center.
President Büyükkılıç, giving a message of unity and solidarity, said, "We are glad to have you, we are waiting for your prayers."
Mayor of Kocasinan, Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar, also called to the personnel and stated that they were mobilized to heal the pain in the earthquake area and stated that they aimed to heal the wound as soon as possible.
Talas Mayor, Mustafa Yalçın, stated that they took special care of the earthquake victims coming from the earthquake area, while Hacılar Mayor Bilal Özdoğan said, “We gathered to send our garbage trucks and our personnel to the Maraş center. May their roads be open, let them go and come in good health," he said.
Mayor Büyükkılıç was accompanied by Deputy Secretary General of Metropolitan Municipality, Hamdi Elcuman.
