Expressing that Bursa, which exports to 207 countries and regions, has achieved a higher export performance than 116 countries, President Burkay emphasized that 4 new companies were established in Bursa for each company closed. President Burkay said, “Bursa's entrepreneurship potential is very high” and added, “For the last 4-5 years, Bursa has an export threshold that it has not been able to exceed. It is an important process that hinders our exports and growth rates. As BTSO, we continue our efforts to increase the export potential of our business world.”

“Construction Works in 63 Factories in TEKNOSAB”

Stating that they made TEKNOSAB, the key to Turkey's industrial transformation, ready for investment in a short period of 4 years, Burkay said, “TEKNOSAB is a common value established with the vision of our BTSO Assembly. In January, we laid the foundation of the highway connection junction in our region. It is planned that TEKNOSAB will be connected to the highway in the spring term. Currently, production continues in 6 factories. 63 businesses received construction permits. The number of employees in 6 factories has now reached nearly 3 thousand. By the end of 2023, we aim to have 35-40 percent of resident investors go into production.” made statements.

“Time Is Valuable”

Stating that the work continues on the SME OIZ Project, which is planned to make Bursa a stronger and more competitive production structure, and to move the unplanned production areas inside the city to the outside of the city, Mayor Burkay said, “4 years ago, 2 thousand 650 There was a request from the company. If it had been possible for us to start the SME OIZ in those days, many of our enterprises could have reached the production stage in SME OIZ today. Time is precious. The demand of each sector is different at this point. 50 percent of Bursa's industry is in unplanned areas. These are places that bring traffic load and air pollution. These areas must be rehabilitated. said.

Nearly 5 Applications to SME OIZ

Stating that nearly 5 thousand enterprises have applied for SME OIZ so far, President Burkay said, “According to the report of BEBKA, there are more than 8 thousand facilities with industrial registration certificates in unplanned areas outside the OIZ. Our top priority here is to move our companies to planned areas. BTSO is the umbrella organization of the business world. We conveyed our demands at this point to our President at the award ceremony of Those Who Add Value to the Economy. I would like to share that when opportunities are provided in this direction, these areas that our SMEs need will be offered to them. At the point of applications, our SME OIZ Executive Board received requests from hundreds of companies regarding the time extension. Considering these suggestions, we have decided to extend the deadline, which we set as January 31, 2023, until February 28, 2023.” used the phrases.

“Business World Expects Continuation of Discounts in Energy Prices”

“Each support offered to the business world is rewarded as high motivation and added value in our economy.” Speaking in the form of President Burkay, regarding the ceiling price of electricity used in industry and natural gas discounts used in electricity production, “Energy prices have started to come back in the world. Rising costs put pressure on companies. Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced the discounts. We thank our minister for listening to the voice of our business world. Increasing and maintaining the discount rates in electricity and natural gas prices as in the countries in which we compete and applying them for all our sectors will accelerate our qualified growth targets. It is important that this continues.” said.

The Request Collection Process for the 'Logistics Center' Begins

Expressing that Bursa also needs centers in terms of logistics, Burkay continued: “Storage areas are sought in many OIZs and industrial zones. Storage areas should be created in areas with connections to specific roads. Our Logistics Council is included in the sectoral structure of our chamber. This council will start the process of collecting requests from our logistics companies for the establishment of a 'logistics center'. It is absolutely necessary to produce areas that companies need.”

“Sector Diversity and Power of Production Are Important”

Stating that cities that diversify their sectors, they overcome the crisis periods more easily, Burkay said, “Producing cities are always stronger. The crises showed us this. I'm talking about real production, not contract manufacturing. Compared to some provinces, we have half as much investment areas, but we export twice as much. This is entirely due to our export value per kilogram. Bursa's export value per kilogram is 4.5 dollars. It is more than 3 times the national average. If there is such a potential in Bursa, it needs to be developed.” made its assessment.

“The Contraction in the Global Economy Will Be Limited”

BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur stated that despite the increasing global risks and suppressed economic activity in the last year, the Turkish economy has shown a higher growth than many other countries and said, “We want to make a strong start to the new century of our Republic in economy. Expectations for the global economy, especially the European Union and the US economy, for 2023 indicate that the contraction will be more limited than expected in the near term. This situation will reflect positively on our exports, employment and investments. We are one of the countries with the highest growth potential with our population structure, production capacity and strategic location. As the business world of Bursa, we will continue to achieve significant and great achievements for our sectors, our city and our country.” said.
