In cooperation with Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) and EXTREME-G, the sport of paragliding was introduced to the Aerospace and Aviation Club and Mechanical Engineering students as part of the "Aviation Talks" event. In the conversation where the details of exploring the sky with paragliding were explained, the students experienced it by wearing Wingsuit. To the interview organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at HKU Law Lecture; HKU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Özge Hacıfazlıoğlu, Head of HKU Mechanical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Güzelbey, Paraglider Barış Çelik Doğa, Wingsuit Şahin Şahin, Wingsult Özge Şahin Yazıcı and academicians and students attended.
“WE WILL TAKE FLIGHTS WITH OUR STUDENTS”
Expressing that as HKU Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the wings necessary to make flights will be provided and he can experience these wings, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Halil Güzelbey said, “Today we are having an interview about paragliding and wingsuit, which is a very different topic. Here, we have athletes who have achieved degrees in Turkey. The pleasure of flying is an incredible feeling. Friends who are interested in this sport can work through our Aviation Group. As the faculty, we will supply the wings necessary to make flights. In this way, we will be able to perform jumps with students from the designated regions who are interested in this sport.”
Within the scope of the interviews; Barış Çelik, who was the first athlete from Turkey to participate in the Paragliding competitions held abroad, and performed many flights of 314 kilometers, answered the questions of the students.
