This machine, called Herrenknecht, will go down to the 45 meter. Approximately 100 meters long, these machines can dig 12 meters per day. With the 6 meter diameter, the machines that will go underground have been brought specially from abroad. The Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy subway, where the excavations are in progress, will pass through Şişli, Kağıthane, Eyüp, Gaziosmanpaşa, Esenler and Bağcılar districts. The metro line has the capacity to carry around 150 thousand people per hour.
