Rail Systems Students Visited Transportation Inc.: Rail Systems Management Program students, within the scope of “Urban Rail Transportation Systems II” course, Istanbul Transportation Inc. visited the facilities. Established by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to operate the urban rail systems in Istanbul, Istanbul Transportation A.Ş. Operates 125 urban rail system lines with a total length of 10 km. Istanbul Transportation Inc. It serves over 1.500.000 passengers every day.
During the last week, our students visited Transportation Inc. facilities and had experience as a mechanic and received information by visiting the Seyrantepe Command Center on site. In addition to the operation of urban rail systems in Istanbul, Istanbul Transportation also provides maintenance and repair of metro and tramway vehicles, maintenance and repair of stations and lines, and maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic systems. In addition to these activities, Istanbul Transportation provides engineering and consultancy services for the future metro projects of Istanbul as well as public transportation projects in Turkey and abroad.
