The 14th Beijing International Film Festival started with the opening ceremony yesterday.
In his opening speech, China Media Group (CMG) President Shen Haixiong stated that they hope to tell "Chinese stories" better in the new era on the occasion of the Beijing International Film Festival and to add cultural power to the creation of the unity of destiny of humanity by intensifying the communication between different civilizations.
Shen stated that in the future, CMG will pioneer China's film and television industry by using artificial intelligence technology and new qualified productive forces. Applications to the 14th Beijing International Film Festival broke a record with 4 films. Additionally, 273 films from 118 countries and regions applied for the Tiantan Award. The 509th Beijing International Film Festival will last 14 days.
