Abandoned Buildings Are Being Demolished in Osmangazi

Abandoned buildings that are idle and spoil the aesthetics of the city also pose a danger to citizens because they are occupied by drug addicts. Building Control Directorate teams demolish and eliminate abandoned buildings whose legal procedures have been completed and the situation has been assessed. The abandoned building, which poses a risk to the safety and health of citizens in Çaybaşı District, was demolished by municipal teams after the completion of the legal and administrative processes. Necessary precautions were taken by the teams to avoid any negativities during the demolition. The rubble that emerged after the demolition was loaded onto trucks by municipal teams and the demolition area was cleaned.

Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın pointed out that abandoned buildings pose risks in terms of the peace and security of citizens and said, “Our goal is to create a more beautiful, modern, healthy and livable Osmangazi. Abandoned buildings pose a danger to the life and property safety of our citizens, both because they carry the risk of collapse and because they are occupied by malicious people. The peace and safety of neighborhood residents is important to us. "In this regard, we will continue the demolition of abandoned buildings for the safety of our citizens," he said.
