Savings Message from Erdoğan… Non-Necessary Expenditures Will Be Cut

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement to journalists and answered questions on the plane upon his return from his visit to Iraq.

“UNNECESSARY EXPENDITURES WILL BE STOPPED”

“We know that a study is being carried out and prepared for savings in the public sector. “Can you give information about what this study covers, its content and when it will come into force?” To the question, President Erdoğan said, “Savings should be understood as eliminating unnecessary expenditures in the public sector and using public resources effectively and efficiently. So nothing different should be understood from this. “We are currently working on revising the budgets accordingly.” he replied.

According to the news conveyed by the Directorate of Communications, President Erdoğan stated that the Ministry of Treasury and Finance will follow the saving steps and review all expenses, from official vehicle usage to communication expenses, from representation, ceremonial and hospitality services to fixture purchases, and added that real needs will be determined and unnecessary expenses will be determined. He emphasized that spending will be cut.

President Erdoğan said, “We have to take savings measures to increase the welfare of our nation. As a government, we are determined to do whatever is necessary for this. Our priority and first goal is to apply savings in public expenditures, reduce inflation and ease the economy. We've done this before. “We will succeed again.” he said.

“WE WILL NOT ALLOW THE NATION TO BE OPPRESSED”

On the other hand, answering the question about whether there is a new road map or a new step against exorbitant prices, President Erdoğan said:

“Our main priority here is, above all else, the welfare of our citizens. We can introduce new and more deterrent measures in the fight against exorbitant prices. Unless excessive profit ambition is restrained, the problem will continue no matter how much salary increases you make. We cannot allow this, especially for essential items such as food. Our relevant ministries are currently working on the necessary measures. We will definitely take some concrete steps in a short time to fight against these exorbitant prices, which also increase inflation. It may also be considered to write prices on the packaging. We cannot compromise here, we will press on. We will never allow our nation to be crushed under the burden of exorbitant prices. "Whoever does this will pay a heavy price."
