Easy Strawberry Jam Recipe: Secrets of Making Fragrant Jam at Home

Strawberry jam is a candidate to become an indispensable part of the table with its fragrant smell and delicious taste. But the secret is to make it at home with your own hands! The recipe for this delicious jam, which you can prepare with fresh summer strawberries, is among the flavors that will delight the palate.

Strawberry Jam Ingredients

  • 1 kg of fresh strawberries
  • 1 kg of granulated sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon or 1 teaspoon lemon salt

Making Strawberry Jam

First, cut the stems of the strawberries and wash them thoroughly. Then slice the strawberries into large pieces or choose to use them whole. Take strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle granulated sugar on them. Stir gently to ensure the sugar covers all sides of the strawberries. Leave the strawberries coated with sugar in the refrigerator for at least 5-6 hours, or preferably overnight. This time allows the strawberries to mix well with the sugar and makes the jam more delicious.

At the end of the waiting period, add the strawberry and sugar mixture into the pot. Let it boil over medium heat. After the mixture starts to boil, reduce the heat and cook for about 30-35 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure that the strawberries reach the consistency of jam. After the jam boils, add lemon juice or lemon salt and mix. This will adjust the consistency of the jam and enhance its flavour. After boiling for about 2-3 more minutes, remove the jam from the stove.

Pour the strawberry jam you prepared into clean jars and close the jars tightly. Let the jam cool in jars and store it after it has cooled completely. Now your delicious strawberry jam is ready! You can enjoy this jam by spreading it on bread for breakfast or using it in desserts.
