Four Countries Invest in Regional Development through Development

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that within the scope of the meetings held in Iraq under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a Memorandum of Understanding for Joint Cooperation in the Development Road Project was signed between Turkey, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Stating that they took a historical step by signing the Development Road Project Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministers of Transport of Iraq, Qatar and the UAE under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Uraloğlu said, "The 'Development Road Project', which we are carrying out based on the developing and growing trade volume in the world and Turkey's strategic position." ', we will now provide uninterrupted transportation to every country in Europe by road and rail from FAV Port to London.” said.

Stating that with the project, the Great Fav Port in Iraq was designed as an important transit center and that they significantly reduced the travel time between Asia and Europe via Turkey, Uraloğlu said that with the Development Road Project, described as the New Silk Road, Turkey's economic and geopolitical status will be improved. He underlined that it will also become stronger.

Minister Uraloğlu underlined that a 15-day gain will be achieved between the time between a ship departing from the Fav Port reaching Europe via the Suez Canal and the same cargo reaching Europe via the Development Road, and said: “Fav Port will be connected to the 1200 km railway and "The project, which will connect the highway to the Turkish border and from there to Europe, will open a new door in terms of regional trade." he said. Stating that the Development Road not only offers a cost-effective and short-term transportation corridor, Uraloğlu said that it is also complementary to existing transportation corridors. Uraloğlu said, “Thus, it connects the east-west corridors in the north-south direction. "The Development Path Project, which will directly contribute to the global trade system, will also contribute to the development and development of all participating countries," he said.

Explaining that technical delegations meet regularly within the framework of the ongoing cooperation with the countries in question within the scope of the Development Path Project, Uraloğlu said, “The Development Path Project extends from the Persian Gulf to Turkey and Europe via land and railways. While connecting Iraq and Turkey, we aim to create a globally important commercial corridor. “The project will also strengthen the economic and geopolitical status of our country and region.” said.
