Şahin from Deva Expressed the Demands of Lawyers

DEVA Party Ankara Deputy İdris Şahin, at the press conference he held in the Parliament, said that more than 200 thousand lawyers worked hard for the manifestation of justice with their honor, knowledge and effort, under many professional and economic difficulties.

Claiming that "a very serious crisis of democracy and law is experienced every day because the independence of the judiciary and the separation of powers are destroyed by the government," Şahin said, "We are all paying a heavy price for the disregard of fundamental rights and the instrumentalization of the constitution." "In such a period, as lawyers who have the responsibility of fighting for a democratic state of law, this duty falls mostly on lawyers." he said.

Underlining that, according to the news on the official website of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, lawyers, who are the founding elements of the Judiciary, struggle with many problems, Şahin said the following.

“As a result of wrong policies, the problems of lawyers are increasing and the legal profession is facing serious discredit. In addition to the problems they face due to the bankruptcy of judicial independence, all of our lawyers are victims and sufferers due to basic problems such as long trial periods, lawyers being seen as enemies by law enforcement units, lawyers being exposed to violence at the scene of seizure, and lawyers' inability to influence the hearing record. As DEVA Party, we are very knowledgeable about the problems of lawyers. "We clearly see what kind of trouble they are in on the field and what kind of financial difficulties they are trying to maintain their social status."

Stating that they do not know whether there is a regulation for the legal profession in the 9th Judicial Package, which is under preparation, Şahin said, "We need to put all kinds of demands of lawyers on the priority agenda and resolve them in the parliament." made his assessment.
