EYÜP TOPRAK: “COMPANYS THAT MANAGE STRESS WELL MADE A DIFFERENCE”

Evaluating this year's results at the award ceremony, Great Place To Work® CEO Eyüp Toprak said: “As Great Place To Work Turkey, we are leaving our 12th year behind. Every year, we reveal valuable insights for the sustainable success of organizations with our global corporate culture and employee experience expertise. This year, we left behind a very difficult year in Turkey. We observe a four-point decline in the general confidence index compared to the previous year, due to reasons such as elections, hyperinflation, and general despair. In other words, employees in both the best employers and standard companies have high stress levels. The only difference is that the best employers have managed to manage this stressful situation with innovative approaches, effective leadership practices, open communication and well-being programs. In other words, companies that managed to make their employees feel secure during crisis periods like this year managed this crisis more successfully.” said.

Regarding the striking results of the report, Toprak stated the following: “One of the most surprising results of the analyzes we carried out this year was the change in the expectations of employees from the company, even in the top five companies. "In our analyzes in previous years, while employees cared about their companies adding value to society, according to our results this year, they stated that it was more important for the company to maintain its own position and solidity in order to avoid job losses due to the crisis."

ECONOMIC WELL-BEING IS IMPORTANT BUT IT IS NOT DETERMINANT OF THE PERCEPTION OF A GREAT WORKPLACE

Stating that one of the most difficult issues for organizations this year is salary regulation, Toprak said, “Although companies increased salaries, the price increase in the market reduced the purchasing power. However, it is not right to say that the employees of companies that do not have a high salary policy are unhappy. Leaders in companies with the title of best employer can compensate for this negative perception with their people-oriented attitude, values, culture and the training they provide. “Companies improve their employees' experience positively by focusing on work-life balance and providing benefits in social benefits.” said.
