Important Regulation on Bee Products

The Turkish Food Codex Bee Products Communiqué of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry came into force after being published in the Official Gazette.

By Communiqué, the production, preparation, processing, preservation, storage and transportation of bee products such as bee bread, bee pollen, royal jelly, raw propolis, propolis, powdered royal jelly and dried pollen, which are offered to the market as food or food supplements, in accordance with the technique and hygienically. and issues regarding its placing on the market were regulated.

The communiqué also determined the product characteristics that royal jelly and powdered royal jelly, raw propolis and propolis, bee pollen, dried bee pollen and bee bread should have. Thus, no external substance can be added to products such as royal jelly, powdered royal jelly, bee pollen, dried bee pollen and bee bread.

The provisions of the relevant regulations of the Turkish Food Codex will be applied regarding contaminants, pesticide residues and veterinary drug residues in bee products.

Flavorings and food ingredients with flavoring properties cannot be used in the products in question.
