Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan Land Transportation is Being Liberalized!

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made evaluations in line with the decisions taken in the Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Land Transport Joint Commission. Stating that decisions were taken to strengthen cooperation in the field of transportation and logistics between the two countries, Minister Uraloğlu said, "With the signed protocol, it was decided to remove and liberalize the passage document quotas from bilateral and transit transportation in international road transportation as of May 1, 2024." said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated the decisions taken at the Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Land Transport Joint Commission (KUKK) Meeting. Minister Uraloğlu announced that decisions were taken at the meeting to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of transportation and logistics. Uraloğlu said, “The cooperation with the Turkish States is very valuable to us. “We know the strategic importance of our country's geographical location, and we work to develop our country's economy and trade with every step we take.” said.

“Tolls are not collected from vehicles with Turkish and Kyrgyz plates”

Minister Uraloğlu stated that with the Protocol signed at the end of the meeting, it was decided to remove the passage document quotas from bilateral and transit transportation in international road transportation and that the liberalization would start as of May 1, 2024, and said, "Our delegations also confirmed that no toll fees will be collected from vehicles with Turkish and Kyrgyz license plates." .

“The Highway Leg of the Central Corridor Will Be Even Stronger”

Underlining that the liberalization of road transport with Kyrgyzstan will facilitate the transportation of transporters to Kyrgyzstan and other countries via Kyrgyzstan, Uraloğlu stated that by strengthening the transit position of the Central Corridor, both export products and transit cargo can be transported more easily between Asia and Europe.

The protocol was signed between Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Durmuş Ünüvar and Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Yrsvbek Bariev.
