They Both Kept Their Promises and Listened to the Problems

Having received 5 out of 4 members in the Edirne Provincial General Assembly in Keşan, CHP Keşan District Presidency is not slowing down. While they were welcomed with interest in Akçeşme Village, which they promised to visit during the election campaign, District Chairman Çakır stated that they were happy to receive 5 out of 4 members in the Edirne Provincial General Assembly and said, "We will have thank you visits to our villages. We listen to the problems of our citizens, who made the Republican People's Party the first party in Turkey, and take notes on finding solutions. We kept our promise during the election campaign in Akçeşme Village. We kept our promise and listened to the problems of our village from our headman and the people of Akçeş. Our work will continue uninterrupted until the next general elections. "We will pay visits to thank our citizens, who paved the way to power with their votes, both in the center of Keşan and in our villages." said.

“WE LISTEN TO THE PROBLEMS OF OUR WOMEN WORKERS”

After the meeting in the village, District Mayor Çakır and the delegation visited the laboring women working in the watermelon field and listened to the problems on site. The women, who work for 700 TL per day (the price of 4 watermelons), thanked the CHP delegation for the visit. District Chairman Çakır, who listened to the problems, said: “Our women from Akçeş work in the watermelon fields from early morning until sunset. They work hard to be rewarded for their efforts. We listened to some of their requests. They have problems with irrigation. Just as the high cost of living hit all our citizens, it also hit our villagers, the master of the nation. They want to get the earnings they deserve under better conditions. On the other hand, they stated that the roads should be improved and that there were problems with the underpass built to pass to the Akçeşme Boztepe side of the Keşan-İpsala road.”

“HAMZADERE DAM NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED IMMEDIATELY”

Underlining that high irrigation costs, marketing difficulties and inadequacy of agricultural policies are the main problems of the producers, District Mayor Çakır made striking statements about irrigation. Çakır made the following statements regarding irrigation: “Water cannot be supplied to Akçeşme from the Hamzadere Dam, which is planned to be completed in 2015 and still has deficiencies. This causes production costs to increase. Hamzadere Dam needs to be completed urgently to reduce production costs. If farmers have it, urbanites also have it.”

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTION SUGGESTIONS WERE NOTED DURING THE VISITS

CHP Keşan District Chairman Anıl Çakır listened carefully to the problems expressed by the villagers and took note of their solution suggestions. Stating that the agricultural sector is of critical importance for the country's economy, Çakır stated that CHP will continue to defend the rights of farmers. He also emphasized that policies at local and national levels should be strengthened to support agriculture and production in the village.

This sincere visit led to the establishment of a strong dialogue between villagers and politicians. The CHP delegation once again showed that it is on the side of watermelon producers by making their voices heard in Akçeşme Village.
