"Turkey's Fastest Marathon" Marathon Izmir Avek, organized for the fifth time this year by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was run with the participation of 5 thousand 600 athletes.

Athletes from 38 different countries participated in the World Athletics Label Marathon Izmir Avek in the International Road Races category. This year, Sidrex, İzmirli, SPX, Kula Doğal Mineral Water and Thera Vita supported the marathon, which was sponsored by Avek Automotive. It was the scene of colorful images before and after the race. Competitors wearing kimonos, attendants at the stands, and Izmir residents of all ages turned Kültürpark into a riot of colors. FIRST PLACE TO KENYA AND ETHIOPIA

In the 38-kilometer race, in which 600 elite athletes from 42 countries participated, Kenyan Vitalis Kibiwot took first place in the men's category with a time of 02.11.08, Ethiopian Sendeku Alelgn came second with 02.13.42, and Kenyan Silas Kurui came third with 02.13.47.
