Target in Tourism is 1 Million Tourists

Within the scope of 15-22 April Tourism Week events, representatives of the city's tourism sector visited Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu. Denizli Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Turhan Veli Akyol, Denizli Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (DENTUROD) President Gazi Murat Şen, TURSAB Denizli Pamukkale Regional President Turan Köseoğlu, GEKA Secretary General Özgür Akdoğan and his entourage attended the visit. Denizli Culture and Tourism Director Akyol stated that they celebrated the 15-22 April Tourism Week and said, “Just as Denizli is an industry and trade city, it is also very important that it is a tourism city. Our events will continue in different parts of the city during Tourism Week. “Thank you for your kind acceptance,” he said.

“We need to revive our tourism values”

Mayor Çavuşoğlu stated that one of the things they want to do most is to revive Denizli tourism and said, “We will work hard together in this sense. We especially have to ensure that tourists coming to Pamukkale come to Denizli. Almost wherever you go in Denizli, it definitely has a historical and cultural touristic value. "We need to raise them up," he said. Noting that approximately 2,5 million tourists come to Pamukkale annually, Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, “Our goal is to enable at least 5 million tourists to visit this city within the first 1 years. In this sense, you and us will have a lot of responsibility. "We all have to do good things together," he said.

1 billion euros added value will be provided to Denizli
Underlining that when Denizli hosts 1 million tourists a year, an added value of approximately 1 billion euros will be provided to the city, Mayor Çavuşoğlu emphasized that there will not be a tourism concept in which tourists only visit Pamukkale and said, “We need to eliminate this understanding. We have to take tourists around our city. Tourists can either go to the South, to Buldan, to Çivril or to Çal. "If we achieve this, we will all have fulfilled our duties," he said.
